Physical Setting: Intimate fast-causal cafe in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Vegan comfort dining. In-house Bakery. Natural Wine + Full Bar. Situated in a unique neighborhood close to Ohio State University.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team. Strong attention to detail. Must work quickly in a confined area and stand for extended periods of time. Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume + cooking procedures. Excels at food preparation through recipe execution. Must be able to distinguish priority when completing tasks. Adhering to all sanitary and allergen regulations and standards. Food handler certification a plus, but not required. On-job training for vegetable preparation, cooking sauces + recipe breakdown. Ability to retain trained information and execute properly is a non-negotiable. Daily tasks include: washing, chopping, sorting + blending ingredients like vegetables, sauces, vegan cheeses. Recipe batching. Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with kitchen and management staff to order resupply. Equipment cleaning and upkeep.

  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and strong organization skills. Eager ability to work as part of a team to build success. Active listening skills + exceptional time management to ensure efficiency. Stamina to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen. Must possess a broad understanding of kitchen operation procedures to exceed food safety standards and regulations. Excellent food preparation and cooking skills necessary. Strong attention to detail when plating dishes. Solid confidence in different methods of chopping vegetables, combining salads, herbs and spices. Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen equipment and cooking utensils. On shift you’ll be preparing and cooking food in a specific station while maintaining a high level of communication with our FOH to ensure that orders are completed on time and according to request. On-job training for translating instructions into finished dishes. Minimum of one-year industry experience necessary. Food Handling Certification garners higher hourly wage.

  • Trained under experienced professionals in proper cooking, preparation, plating techniques + flavor combinations. Able to begin work with little-to-no additional training. Superior dexterity skills to operate cutting tools quickly and safely. Keen understanding of industry-standard best cooking and preparation practices. Familiarity with safe and sanitary food handling and preparation. Certified in proper food handling, typically through a ServSafe Certification. Good math skills with a clear understanding of cooking measurements. Strong sense of smell and taste. Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills. Great collaboration and teamwork skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • We are looking for someone with key baking skills who enjoys morning hours in a fast paced environment, is capable of self management and multitasking. We create every baked good from scratch and our team is passionate about pushing the boundaries in vegan baking. We believe in providing endless potential and plenty of unexplored territory. If you want an opportunity for creativity using only plant-based ingredients, we are striving to build a team with a willingness to learn, make mistakes, and innovate.

  • We are not hiring servers, as our cafe ordering model is ‘point of sale’ : our FOH role includes customer interaction, food expo, order input, organization + cleanliness. Must have a strong personality + spunk with the ability to easily engage our team, community + customers. Individuality + uniqueness is a must.
